Neurosurgery
Residency Overview The Neurolosurgical Residency consists of a preliminary surgical year in OGME-1, consisting of a broad clinical foundation with an emphasis in surgery. OGME-2 includes general surgery, neurology, and neurological surgery rotations. Years OGME-3 through OGME-6 are dedicated to neurosurgery. This program is community based and offers clinical opportunities at a variety of sites in the southeastern Michigan area.

Program Director: Louis Jacobs, DO, FACOS

Dr. Jacobs is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed internship and residency training in general surgery and neurology at Botsford General Hospital, and neurosurgical residency training at Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Jacobs is board certified in Neurological Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons in Neurological Surgery.
