Diagnostic Radiology

Residency Overview
The Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Garden City Hospital is one of four sites affililated under the Michigan State University Osteopathci Residency Program in Diagnostic Radiology. Formal didactics include onsite conferences scheduled several times a week. Residents also participate in a weekly day long educational conference on the East Lansing campus. Three months of rotations at MSU are incorporated. An active Visiting Professor program provides additional teaching and an opportunity to meet with many distinguished faculty from nationally prominent institutions. The American College of Radiology Teaching film file is also available for resident use at MSU in addition to each community hospital site.

Radiology facilities at GCH include onsite fixed MRI, 64-slice and large bore CT scanners, and a PACS system.
The curriculum is designed to provide comprehensive training in all phases of diagnostic radiology through rotations at GCH and nearby Southgate Radiology. Sub-specialty rotations in Pediatrics, Neuroradiology and Nuclear Medicine are obtained through affiliated institutions. In addition, 6 weeks are spent at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) course in Washington, D.C.
